What’s the difference between a Mish Mash Succotash Drop and a Widows & Orphans Drop, you ask?
Well, a Widows & Orphans Drop is usually made up of different versions of things you’ve seen before. They just got left out of the larger collection—like a stray fob, a matching notebook cover or an alternate format that didn’t get tested in time.
Or, more likely, I completely forgot to put it in.
A Mish Mash Succotash Drop DOES contain some of those widows and orphans—but it also contains entirely new stuff!
And this particular drop has apparently chosen chaos.
We have:
4×4 corner bookmarks featuring Catbus, Jiji, Totoro, Shanky and the Twinkle Fairy
Gengar and Umbreon zip bags, because they missed the previous Pokémon drops and have been glaring at me from the shadows ever since
Doctor Doom as both a full fill and a fob, because Doom goes where Doom pleases and does not require a coordinated collection
A new set of Adult Crafter Badges, available as fobs and patches:
• Didn’t Hoard the Fabric
• Didn’t Blame the Machine
• Winner: Bobbin Chicken
• Finished the Project Before Starting Three More
• Found the Missing Scissors
• Didn’t Forget the Back
AND the sixth edition of Adult Merit Badges, also available as fobs and patches, celebrating such astonishing feats of responsible adulthood as:
• Hydrated Voluntarily
• Didn’t Google My Symptoms
• Made the Appointment
• Didn’t Read the Comments
• Took My Meds
• Replied to the Email
Are any of these things related?
Absolutely not.
Could they have been separated into several carefully coordinated themed releases?
Probably.
Was that ever realistically going to happen?
Let’s not ask questions when we already know the answers.
It’s animation! It’s Pokémon! It’s crafting! It’s basic adult functioning! It’s Doctor Doom!
It’s the MISH MASH SUCCOTASH DROP: where the widowed, orphaned, forgotten, delayed and aggressively miscellaneous patterns rise up together and demand to be seen.
All this and so much more in today’s release!
No theme. No rules. Just patterns.
